What is Koinobori?
Koinobori are traditional Japanese carp-shaped decorations flown during Children’s Day, celebrated on May 5th. Composed of “koi” (carp) and “nobori” (flag/banner), they symbolise strength and success in Japanese culture.
The festival aims to honour children’s well-being, with parents displaying koinobori to wish for their children’s strength and health.
